Who Am I?

Welcome! Who am I?

I am a wife, a mother, a dachshund lover, a life-long learner, a passionate educator, a certified Apple Teacher, who is looking for a way to share ideas with the world.

A little background… in 2005 I graduated from a private school located in Arlington, Texas, The Oakridge School, and followed my passion of becoming a Horned Frog at Texas Christian University. In 2009, I graduated with my degree in Early Childhood Education. In the fall of 2009, I started my career as a 4th grade teacher at my Alma Mater, Oakridge. In the spring of 2014, I earned my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. In the summer of 2010, I married my long-time high school sweetheart and in the spring of 2014 we welcomed our first, spoiled-rotten, little girl. In the fall of 2017, we welcomed our second baby girl who has been the perfect addition to our family.

From 2009 to 2015, I taught 4th grade students math, reading and social studies. In 2015, I began my journey as a Learn21 Specialist, better known as an instructional coach, in which I partner with teachers in grades 4 through 8. I balanced Learn21 with teaching 4th grade- 3 days per week in the Learn21 role and 2 days per week teaching 4th grade students math, for 4 years. I now serve as the Assistant Director of Technology and Modern Learning and have the pleasure of partnering with teachers in all grade levels.

My goal is to use this website as a way to share my thoughts, ideas, lessons, and whatever else may inspire me with the world.

I would love to network with you so feel free to reach out to me via this website or shoot me an email at aread@theoakridgeschool.org
